Werewolf Destiny Page 14
- I don't know yet," he admitted honestly, "but we'll soon find out.
He put his hand to the girl's stomach, and she curled up, feeling an intense beat of pain somewhere around her heart. She had no time to wonder if it was a heart attack or something else, because the vampire examining her took her hand and, trying to stay calm, stretched the fabric of her blouse in such a way as to expose her right arm.
- The bite disappears - he nodded his head with understanding and reached for the medical bag, taking out some bottles from it.
- It wasn't full yet," noted Colin, misreading the words of Ursus, as a disconnection of the two halves after failing to pair before the set time.
- Alpha Withell is dying - the doctor quickly rectified this by soaking the swab in liquid and pushing Amanda to her nose. - A few deep breaths and the breath will fully return.
She listened to him immediately, not sure if she understood the vampire well. Is it possible for someone to raise their hand to Withell? Or maybe it was him who attacked someone who shouldn't and fate turned against him? Whatever happened, she felt with her whole body that it would not be a reversible process. Something pulled the werewolf down too much, almost pushing it and holding it in the arms of death, and she had the unpleasantness to participate in it.
- Is he dying? - Deveth looked at Ursus with disbelief, but he didn't look like he was lying.
He would also have no reason to do so, because he strongly supported his ruler and although Amanda did not seem to him to be the best party for a queen, he fully acknowledged and accepted the king's choice.
- It seems so - the vampire got up from his knees and closed the bag. - It would be best to move the lady to the chamber. She should lie down, but should not be left alone. Someone must watch over her.
- You don't tell me about something, Ursus - Colin easily lifted a half-conscious brunette, pressing her warm body to himself.
The doctor did not like to discover the black spots in his mind, but this time he had no choice.
- I am sorry, Your Majesty, but I have never had to deal with such a case and I am not sure what will happen when one of the souls destined to die - he clouded himself, because it was always difficult for him to admit his own incompetence and he considered the lack of knowledge as such.
- You don't have to worry - the king started climbing the stairs in no hurry, trying not to make more violent moves to relieve the girl in her suffering. - This doesn't change your excellent skills.
The vampire did not entirely agree with this, but hoped that the future queen would manage to tear the ties, if at all, between her and the wolf.
- Can she... - Deveth wasn't able to finish the sentence, which was still difficult to get through his throat.
He couldn't even imagine that he could lose Amanda, which he recovered just a few days ago and all those years he managed to love to madness.
- No, sir - Ursus has leaned in with respect, wanting to go to his laboratory and, just in case, make fresh energy stock and ointment for burns - she will be fine. It will certainly weaken for a few days and perhaps the skin at the bite site will become softer, but nothing else should happen.
- I trust you, Ursus - the king looked the vampire straight in the eyes and went away to the bedroom of the brunette, so that she could be exposed to the painful connection in the privacy.
Każdy błąd mógł kosztować go życie i dobre samopoczucie króla, który bardzo he became attached to this young woman. However, if the werewolf bite disappears, the stigma he put on his partner will also disappear with his death, which meant that the ruler will be free to turn her into a vampire.
- And hopefully, he would do it as soon as possible - he would purr to himself, entering his favorite room and getting down to work right away.
Amanda was lying on her bed, barely conscious, but still trying to keep at least one foot on reality. She did not want the king to consider her weak and regret that he put his feelings in someone so pathetic. It was enough for Withell to tell her this many times, and she deeply believed in it, even though she pretended not to be moved.
- Don't fight it - Colin gently took her hand as if he was afraid that under the touch of his slender fingers it would crumble into tiny pieces. - I love you and nothing will change that.
A few tears came down the girl's cheek, but she couldn't answer anything because her larynx refused to obey her.
Two nurses entered the room, who usually accompanied her from the whole group and took care of the drip attachment, which she exceptionally welcomed with relief. She knew that now she would need it very much, because she probably won't be able to eat for a few days.
When she thought about it, she realized the bitter truth. Jasper Withell was probably poisoned, which would explain the unusual fire in selected parts of the body and the laryngeal failure. She closed her eyes, dreaming that the dream would come quickly, and with it, the hope that Dagmara and Vanessa were safe and still alive was restored.
Chapter XVIII
They stood in complete silence on the river bank, looking at the body covered with a shroud, resting on a wooden boat still tied to the platform.
The Trein hugged the heavily dispossessed Dagmara, who started her new function in the herd a little bit unusual: the funeral ceremony. This may not have been the best start, and the cloakroom was shaking and crying because she was just saying goodbye to her beloved aunt, her old life and the torturer who took all this away from her, but she believed with all her might that the end of this story would be completely different.
She had a red ribbon tied at her wrist - a sign that she had not yet been marked by her partner, but she made him a promise. Thus, she gave the herd hope (although she did not know and was afraid to accept it) that she voluntarily decided to give her soul to a lover, and that the body would henceforth serve only to advise, care for and help each member of the pack.
The Trey entered the platform and was followed by Dagmara, holding a burning torch in her hand. The wolves joined the shore, but stopped in front of the water line, not wanting to disturb the calm current. They did not bend their heads, did not sing songs, did not bow to the setting sun, asking for the last time to happen for the victim, which would give her a good death according to their beliefs. They just stood there, and it was quite a challenge for them, after what the leader of the pack had done.
- As the sun sets, let there be the memory of the Alpha, which believed too much in hatred to know the taste of love - Trein spoke firmly, taking the torch from the luff and throwing it on the black shroud.
Together with Dante, they pushed the boat firmly away from the pier, so that the current would carry it somewhere down the slope, where the remains would turn into ash, before it would get there.
- I understand your concern about the new packers, but I would like to assure you that we will do everything we can to make you feel loved and safe again - saying this, he watched the flames lazily devour the wood, which was getting smaller and smaller with every moment, until it finally completely disappeared from his eyes.
Dagmara nie odzywała się, ale cały czas trzymała blisko przeznaczonego, by ten czuł, że jest obok i wspiera go całym sercem. Było to też ważne ze względu na an exceptional situation. During such events, the guides were always watched by the pack members and had to prove that what they said was not a lie.
The girl wasn't sure if she made the right choice and Trein deserved to give him a chance... but she felt that her aunt would want it and be proud of it. She could have escaped to Scotland, stuck in a castle, and charmed vampire aristocrats, hoping that one would look at her favourably, but deep in her heart smouldered the belief that she did the right thing. The flock had suffered enough, and she could make it back into the background
and emerge like a phoenix from the ashes.
Besides, during her short stay she managed to get to know several variables, look at their everyday life, children, partners and even modest homes. Although they formed strong and harmonious families, they lacked someone who would take care of the development of the pack and make it worthy of the people who spent their whole lives in it.
She was going to change that. She wanted to reverse what he did to Jasper's herd. Everything was simple for him, it was enough for the wolves to exist for the pack and fulfill every order of the alpha without murmuring, even putting their lives and, what is worse, the lives of their loved ones at risk.
Luna was ready to do anything to make this pack exist for wolves, and they could find shelter, family, warmth and peace of mind in it. She wasn't alone in this, because the destined one supported her as much and, like her, wanted good changes.
- I would never even suspect that this would happen... - Trein whispered, coming down from the platform and trying to forget about who he just said goodbye to.
The whole wolf family went to the main house to have a warm meal there, in accordance with tradition, and to remember the dead - in this case Keyligh, Hopkins and Verber, who were not burned, but buried in a tiny cemetery near the building.
Nad długim drewnianym stołem rozwieszone zostały lampki, które Dante pozaczepiał o pobliskie drzewa. Dagmara wraz z omegami przygotowały kilka typowych dań, którymi chętnie raczyły się wilkołaki. Przypilnowano również, by cała zastawa została pieczołowicie wyczyszczona i sprawdzona przez tropicieli z the perfect smell, or that it certainly does not come into contact with the poison. Fortunately, it seemed that Vanessa used only crystals for her plan.
The wolves waited for the alpha and the luna to sit at the top and then take their own seats and get on with the food. During the ceremonial wake no one spoke, but this silence did not disturb anyone and was not a nuisance. The cloakroom felt even relieved to have a moment before she had to explain to her brothers that they could no longer stay here and where they would move. They decided to do this with Trein just a few days ago, but Dagmara was sure of herself and did not intend to give up trying to organize a pack on a completely different continent. Here, nothing held her back and she did not intend to waste any more time to tear up her old wounds, let alone suffocate with dark memories.
- What is it that worries you? - young Withell turned to her with tenderness, but she only sighed hard.
- I wish they were happy - she admitted truthfully - and ready to leave here forever.
Unlike the herd, she did not eat, being satisfied with the possibility of looking at this unusual picture. And although the recent events were cruel and tragic, the atmosphere at the table was almost magical. It was as if nothing bad had happened.
- We will not force them to do so, but we will let them decide for themselves," proposed Trein, and she agreed without murmuring.
Of course, she did not intend to decide for anyone. This was not her new role. She could have relied on the strength of her voice and tried to encourage wolf families to embark on this journey with them, but she would never dare to choose this fate for them. That was not what building a happy family was about.
- When will we tell them?
Alpha thought himself, and a vertical wrinkle appeared on his forehead. After a few moments, when he slowly recovered, she already knew what he had decided.

[At the same time]
Amanda zaszyła się w ogrodzie, chcąc odbyć ceremonię pogrzebową we własnym zaciszu. Na tę okazję ubrała czarną sukienkę do kolan i czarny kapelusz, który chronił jej delikatną skórę przed słońcem. Wciąż nie mogła się uporać z burns that attacked her body so easily. It is good that Ursus rescued her with a miraculous ointment for burns and took the pain away at least for the night.
It was difficult for her to come to terms with the thought that she would never see Vanessa and Gina again. Although they were not particularly close, Keyligh repeatedly offered her help and defended her from her brother, and Verber probably saved her life. She wanted to come back only to say goodbye to them properly, but Dagmara gently distracted her from the idea. The flock could have taken her presence away from her, and she did not intend to make it even more difficult for the young couple to work.
She closed her eyes, returning to all the moments in which Gina participated in her life. She was sorry that at first she reacted so negatively to the woman's lack of sincerity, as if she had acted honestly towards herself from the beginning. A few tears came down on her pale cheek before someone wiped them off with a gentle movement.
- I would like to accompany you - the king sat next to his beloved and took one of her hands, enjoying the softness of the brunette's skin and the warmth that was beating from her human body. - No one should experience mourning alone.
She didn't quite agree with that, but she was grateful to him that he took the trouble to find her and follow her.
- Thank you - she whispered, closing her eyelids again and returning to her depressing memories.
He did not speak up, wanting her to have enough space for her own suffering and the emotions accompanying it. When the tears came back on her face, he pressed her hand tightly so that she knew that she was always vigilant at her side.
- This is the end - she spoke after an hour of conscientious silence. - Now everything will be completely different, right?
Deveth grabbed her chin and turned it in his direction.
- It depends only on you, Amando," he whispered before his cool lips passionately tasted the girl's slightly swollen mouth.
They were in no hurry, had enough time to start all over again.
Epilogue
There was a light wind, but quite pleasant as Amanda walked in a long elegant dress and warm coat through the snow-covered courtyard. In her hand she was holding a bouquet of roses from royal greenhouses, modestly decorated with a few ribbons.
She was wiping the pins off the snow before pushing the heavy doors and entering the chapel decorated with white flowers. At her sight, Colin smiled delighted and immediately grabbed her hand, not wanting her to think back and still run away.
- Just in time - he whispered in her ear, leading her on the maroon carpet towards the altar.
They took their seats with pride and guests watched them with curiosity. In the air you could smell the excitement and strong smell of flowers.
When a calm melody flowed from above, everyone rose up, including Amanda and Colin, secretly exchanging tender looks. The heads of the gathered gathered unanimously turned towards the young couple, who were slowly moving towards the pentaptych.
- Dears, we are gathered here for an exceptional reason... - The werewolf, acting as a preacher, started, but still nobody listened to what he had to say, because everyone was delighted with the main characters of the ceremony.
Dagmara was wearing a beautiful white dress, with tall beige pins sticking out from underneath, in which she barely held on her feet. The Trein made sure that she didn't break anything and together, although it was hard to imagine, they were a really perfect couple.
The brunette shed a few tears while her friend was so touched that she could hardly pronounce the words of the oath, not to mention how her hands were shaking when she put the ring on her designated finger. Hale was afraid for a moment that she would be forced to give the young people spare rings, but luckily, the luna mastered the situation in time and came out of the awkward situation.
- — ... love, fidelity and honesty in marriage... - The dressing gown continued with a voice breaking from emotions, but all those present at the wedding were crying, so there was no one to blame her.
- Let your fate be sealed by a symbolic kiss - a werewolf, who was disappointed, looked at the alpha and did not waste a moment.
He embraced Dagmar's blushing face in both hands and gave her a warm kiss on her lips, from which the shivers ran down her back. Applause and cheerful shouts were heard
in the Gothic building and the interested parties breathed a sigh of relief, silently thanking the witnesses for their presence and spiritual support.

- Do you think they'll manage? - Amanda asked Amanda, waving goodbye to lovers getting into the jeep who were going on a long and well-deserved honeymoon.
- I have absolutely no doubts - Colin embraced her at his waist and attracted her to himself, saturating himself with her sweet scent.
Dagmara and Trein waved their friends for the last time, ensuring that they would miss them very much. The whole pack moved to Scotland a few months ago, to one of the cold castles, which the vampire ruler generously gave to his niece as a wedding present. Everyone wanted to forget what happened in Los Angeles, and the endless hectares of fields and forests were perfect for this.
- See you later! - She shouted to Hale before the car went into a snowstorm.
- Sweetheart, although you're already inside because you're going to catch a cold - Colin was worried, which wasn't so unreasonable.
Amanda's body has changed greatly since the bond was broken by Withell's death. She often had pains in her muscles and joints, suffered much faster than a normal person, and did not even sleep as well as she used to. Ursus examined her every day, but his opinion remained the same. Whether she wanted to or not, she could only get rid of her ailments in one way - becoming a vampire.
- What are you thinking about? - The king was curious when, tired all day long, they climbed the wide stairs upstairs, dreaming only of a warm bath and a soft bed.
- Did you... - swallowed a stew in her throat, with difficulty saying another word - could you change me?
