Surprised Colin stopped at the door, scanning carefully the face of his beloved for doubts or even slight fear.
- Why do you ask that right now? - She didn't answer right away, playing with the sleeve of her dress, which helped her to calm down and gather thoughts.
- I guess I'd just like that - whisper, shyly looking into his eyes.
The vampire smoothed the cold cheek of the brunette gently.
- I could," he finally admitted, "but I won't do it.
Surprised, she escaped sideways and a blush of shame entered her cheeks.
- Why? - Until now it seemed to her that Colin wanted her to become like him.
Perhaps she was blinded by her own desires and misinterpreted his behaviour.
- Because you don't want it at all - the king opened the door to the chamber and she was reluctant to go inside.
For some time she did not like to part with him and the lonely nights were extremely long when she could not look at his calm face, black as onyx eyes and feel that he was close.
- I don't understand - she sighed, taking off her wet coat from the snow and putting it on the backrest of the chair by the fireplace to dry off. - After all, I just said the opposite. To tell you the truth, I thought you would be happy...
Deveth smiled amused by her embarrassment.
- I would be delighted if you wanted to do so fully aware of your choice, Amanda... - He came close to her and his mouth was dangerously close to her neck. - You only want this because of the idea that you are the only one of us who remains human. You feel that you are under pressure that you have come up with yourself.
At first she was outraged at how he could accuse her of something so terrible, but the longer she thought about it, the more she was willing to admit it. Yes, somewhere deep inside her heart she wanted to give herself up and stay immortal, but that time has definitely not yet come.
- I'm sorry - the defeated one dropped her head, wanting to enter the bathroom to relax a bit and forget about everything, but he blocked her way, aggressively attacking her mouth.
Earlier he served her only short, tender and gentle kisses, but this one did not resemble them at all. The king expressed in it a whole lot of emotions that were hurting him, although he never let them go beyond his mind. She appreciated it, so she tried to give him back the best she could, although in this craft she did not grow up to Colin's heels. When they finally broke away from each other, she had the impression that hours, not a few minutes had passed. She was warmed up, her heart was rumbling in her chest like a herd of raging wild horses, and her mouth was swollen with intense caress.
- I love you, Amanda - he whispered straight into her lips - and you don't have to apologize to me for anything.
She barely calmed her breath, resting her hands on the vampire's chest.
- I wish I could tell you the same thing - she hid her face behind a curtain of long hair, ashamed to look at him after this confession.
It was not at all that she did not love him, but after what she went through, she had serious doubts whether she could love him at all.
- You don't have to - he provided it equally quietly - and I don't expect that at all. All I really want is to see a smile on your face. I want you to be happy, and if you don't think you're so close to me, I'll let you go.
It walled her up, not what she expected. The King held her in his arms for a while, but finally he silently moved away to leave her alone. However, she did not allow him to do so, clinging firmly to his arm at the last moment.
- Please, don't go away - she's confused - I don't want to be alone again.
- I'll be back when you finish your bath - he gave you satisfaction with a smile - and now forgive me for a moment.
It was only when he left that she felt how wrong she was. Yes, she did not love him at all. She was madly in love with him, and this forced her to constantly fear that when she would finally confess her love for him too, she would recognize that he had received what he wanted and abandon her to fulfill herself as a ruler or find another one in which to place her feelings.
- Stupid! - She was annoyed under her nose, closing with the door slamming from the bathroom. - Finally, girl, get a grip on yourself. You could have told him the truth, not played inaccessible! Idiot...
She turned the water on and straightened up, looking straight into the mirror, where she jumped with a wild scream in the eyes of the king.
- You horrible liar - he whispered in a low voice, pushing it against the cold wall - I think we will have to work on honesty...
A silent moan left her throat when she realized that Colin had done it on purpose. The son of a bitch knew from the beginning that she was staring at him with her buttery eyes and probably laughed at the nighttime dreams in which he was notoriously present.
- I have to take a bath! - she squealed, trying to push his muscular body away, but he didn't move a millimetre, making it more and more difficult for her to be close.
- Okay, but I won't leave until you say it out loud," he pronounced, biting the flake of her ear.
She leaned, but had no choice, because the water level was already dangerously close to the edge of the bathtub, and she did not intend to arrange the lake's bathroom.
- Okay, you won, I love you.
- And that's what I wanted to hear - with superhuman speed he turned the water around and threw an angry Amanda into it, also loading himself inside.
- Colin! We will destroy the dress! - She screamed, but did not let her waste such a beautiful voice, closing her mouth with another long kiss and quickly getting rid of the problem of unnecessary clothes...
