Werewolf Destiny Page 3

  - So you gave in to my will - he smiled predatorily, not hiding his satisfaction, as if he had completely changed his mind about the usefulness of a man in his herd.

The mere fact that she survived the transformation was enough to come to some conclusions. No average human being would have undergone a transformation. Amanda Hale was therefore not average. She had to hide some kind of magic, which at first glance was not detectable, but if everything went according to plan, this magic will soon reveal itself.

  - Leave me alone - she sang in response, beating Jasper out of rhythm with this.

Pierwszy raz w życiu ktoś odezwał się do niego w taki sposób. Nie był do tego przyzwyczajony i nie zamierzał tolerować takiego zachowania. Luna powinna to behave with dignity and, above all, to be submissive to you, and he was the one in this relationship.

  - Language, baby - he raised his voice, but he didn't see in her eyes a single shred of guilt, which should be there immediately after his attention.

  - Screw you, Withell - she was whispering, which touched him alive. - I am not your property - she added oil to the fire, looking him in the eye.

He could pretend that it didn't make any impression on him and all he dreamed about was punishing his mother. The truth, however, was that after Amanda's words, he realized that he admired the cut tongue and the wall that the girl decided to start building around her to prevent him from accessing her.

The problem was that he did not intend to let her do it.

  Chapter V

  It started quite innocently.

Jasper radiated pride, presenting his second half to the members of the pack.

Gina watched all the commotion with disgust and prayed that the new linen would survive as long as possible.

Hopkins rubbed sweat from his forehead, clearly cursing the day.

Dagmara was sitting in the basement, crying her eyes out and wondering if she will ever see her loved ones again.

Amanda, on the other hand, was trying to get out of the role assigned to her, although she could not resist Jasper's supernatural influence. He kept looking into her head, thus causing terrible migraines that she could not cope with.

So she spent most of her time in bed, staring at the ceiling and stuffed with painkillers, which were not really needed for anything. One kiss of Withell in the temple would have been enough and all the pain would have disappeared in the blink of an eye.

She didn't know if he didn't want to, or if he just didn't care, but she decided not to ask him for anything more anyway. One moment of weakness was enough to leave a lifelong disgust in her.

  - Luno, I brought some medicine - an older woman entered the bedroom, with a tray on the bedside table.

Amanda didn't even have to look at her to know that she brought more than just drugs to help her.

  - Thank you, you can leave - she whispered poorly, wanting the omega to disappear behind the door as soon as possible.

She noticed how Withell treated his subordinates, who dared to bend the rules he created. Staying with her longer than necessary was one of them.

Jasper was happy to use others as training bags - especially when it came to cruelty training. He had a perfect command of the game, and yet he was still willing to practice.

The old lady smiled pale, heading back to the door. She turned around only once to send Hale a look full of sincere sympathy. Then she disappeared, blurring all possible traces of weakness behind her.

Amanda waited patiently to hear the characteristic steps that made her tremble after a while. She hated these meetings. He always came when she was getting her daily dose. She did not know why and did not want to know. She was not fully aware of what happened to her after taking these drugs. She usually got dizzy and fell asleep, and after a few hours she woke up with a complete blank in her memory.

  - Good morning, beloved - he threw a light tone, as if he was trying to convince himself that this day will really be quite successful.

She did not answer. She was not in the habit of doing so. She only forced herself into a conversation if he mentioned her name at first. In this way, he imposed concrete behavior on his partner and she could not evade it.

  - Surprised or embarrassed? Your heart is pounding so hard that probably everyone around you can hear this annoying rumble," she dragged her partner, not threatened by her silence. - Anyway, never mind. I see that you haven't taken your medicine yet.

If she could, she would rip that cynical smile off his face.

She hated him with all her heart, and hatred grew in her every day of this nightmare. She would rather die than be kept as a prisoner in peace away from the people she loved. She did not even know whether it was day or night. The windows were still covered, and she was not allowed to leave the room without Jasper's permission. It was not difficult to guess that he never gave this permission. Do not count a few hours after her transformation so that the herd could see her with their own eyes.

There was no way of getting to know each other, because the only thing that the alpha gained was a poor presentation of the intended one, which might as well have been encouraging the peasant to buy mares at the market.

After the whole event, he quickly took her to the bathroom, had her makeup washed off, previously carefully prepared by one of the omegas, almost forcibly ripped off her dress (because she couldn't stand up on her feet, not to mention dressing in anything) and carried her in her underwear to the bedroom in the attic.

Actually, she was barely conscious when he put her on the bed and carelessly covered her with a quilt. Then she couldn't remember a thing, coming to the conclusion that she simply had to fall asleep.

There was a second, more terrifying possibility - he could remove her memories because he didn't want her to remember. However, she preferred to stick to the first version, and the second did not allow her to speak.

  - Why are you giving them to me? - She didn't want to look at him, but she raised her head for a moment to see if anything in his behaviour would change.

  - You need them - he reminded us with an icy tone, and the temperature in the room has dropped significantly. - You can't do without them.

  - Why? - She snorted, turning her face to the wall.

This conversation made no sense. She was stupid, hoping that this man (or actually a werewolf) would want to talk to her normally at least once. After all, she was nobody. She did not deserve the attention of the alpha.

All in all, she had it deep in her nose as long as he let her out of this crazy house.

  - Are you trying to provoke me? - She still heard the cold in his voice, but it was much lighter than before.

By the way, he had fluctuating moods, as if he were pregnant. Maybe even worse, because it lasted for him all the time.

  - No, I just want to know the reason for stuffing me with this poison - she threw it with sarcasm, without changing position.

The wall was much more interesting.

  - What are you talking about? - At first she thought she overheard herself, but after a while she realized that Withell was worried.

It was a completely new experience, because Jasper was unlikely to pay attention to what was happening to her, and certainly not to such insignificant details.

After all, it is only poison. It is strong - it will survive. On the other hand, if you cannot outsmart your fate, it is difficult. She will die because she was weak and unworthy to deal with it.

  - What are you talking about, Hale? - he repeated and this time she was forced to answer.

  - After all, every day I get medicines that weaken me instead of strengthening me," she noted, and the werewolf sent her a look full of disbelief.

Now she's already stupid herself. She didn't know if she was playing so well or rea
lly doesn't know anything. Rather, she was in favor of the first one, but everything seemed to indicate that this time the second version is the right one.

  - Why didn't you tell me this before? - He reached for the plate on which the prepared portion of pills was lying and looked at them with anger. - Why, Hale?

  - I thought it was intentional - she moved her shoulders. - Besides, I don't care now. I might as well die.

Alpha sighed annoyed and poured drugs on his hand, which he then crushed into white powder.

  - You're a fool - he purr. - If you were missing, I would become a shadow of myself and the pack would fall apart after a few months. I don't know how you could not have known that. Who brought you these drugs?

  - Omega - seeing his incomprehensible sight, she turned her eyes over - I don't know them. You took one when she wanted to help me. The other, much older, has been coming recently. Both apparently knew.

He got up, shoveling the remains of the tablets onto the floor. He was not angry, he looked rather like an oasis of peace. As if everything became clear to him and the pieces of the puzzle finally started to fit together.

  - So it is someone who has equivalent power to mine," Amanda graciously informed. - It is good that you did not manage to meet him.

  - How so? - she was surprised. - Aren't you the alpha here?

  - I am, woman-burked, this time annoyed by her failure - but not the only one. My younger brother also got the right to power, so if you fail and don't give a descendant, he will take over the herd.

  - A descendant? You must have been crazy - she was crazy, agitated by his idea.

He treated her like a doll, with which he could do what he wanted, and finally she was to give him a child. The very idea of any physical contact with this person made her disgusted.

  - And what do you think I did to you after all that pathetic show in front of the herd? - She laughed sinisterly, but it got dark before her eyes.

  - You must be kidding me - she moaned, wanting to die exactly at that moment.

  - Of course he did, Hale - he got frustrated. - You probably don't think I'm attracted to necrophilia. I am not so desperate.

She breathed a sigh of relief, even though the fireworks lurking in Jasper's eyes told her that he was not entirely honest with her.

It's just a pity that they didn't say which one specifically.

For the first time Amanda was allowed to leave the room a few days after Jasper's visit, which brightened up some understatements about her health.

  - Careful, luno - Trein sent a funny look to the girl as she was walking down the stairs, holding on to the railing.

Personally, she did not suffer the younger of the Withell brothers, but could not help but notice his annoying presence at home.

  - I didn't think you'd solve the mystery of excessive weakness so quickly - he spitefully spoke up, pretending to keep it from falling. - I'll come up with something else, don't worry.

She snorted in response, rapidly repelling his hand.

  - What do you mean? - she stopped halfway down the stairs, casting an icy look at him. - If you have a problem, you finally realize that I wasn't pushing into your shelter.

  - Shout louder, because maybe someone hasn't heard it yet - he purrred, again trying to embrace it, but jumped aside.

  - I don't care who hears me and who doesn't - she burst rudely. - You're keeping me here as if I were a thing, not a man. You are a pathetic imitation of dogs, not legendary creatures endowed with a heart.

  - Brake yourself, doll, or Jasper will get really pissed off - Trein finally managed to grab Hale's arm and drag her down to the living room by force. - Sit down and enjoy more than the silence in your room.

Amanda looked at him from under the bull, but obediently took a seat on the wide couch and looked forward to the TV set, where the boy was fiercely tinkering.

She hoped that although it works and will be able to spend time observing the life of artificial families on an artificial screen.

The imaginary reality was something she needed now. With Dagmara, they often cried and laughed to tears during tacky Turkish romances.

  - Wait! - She screamed, rapidly pulling herself up. - What did you do with Dagmara?

Trein stopped pretending that he was trying to fix the black screen, which for him was only a decoration, and took a close look at the delighted brunette. She was not so bad, and in her own way she even pulled him.

  - Who are you even talking about? - He tried to sound indifferent, but the ironic smile had to expose him.

  - You know very well who she was talking about, because you were there then, liar.

  - It's ugly to throw accusations on the right and left, don't you think? - In a few seconds, he covered the distance separating them and grabbed the girl's face in his hands, drawing her closer together. - Will you apologize, or should I use direct coercive measures?

  - Screw you, you idiot, she's jumping, trying to increase the distance between them.

Trein had no intention of letting her do it, because unlike Hale he had a great time.

In the fervour of events they did not notice that someone has been watching them for a long time.

  - You might know what you two are actually doing? - sounded like always, so stoic that the definition of peace was too narrow to describe.

  - Jasper, how nice to see you - started younger Withell, although he didn't give a damn about the fact that his older brother is just witnessing the harassment of his soul mate. - Did you come in because you wanted to or because you had to?

Amanda took advantage of Trein's moment of inattention and got out of his embrace by going aside.

She was fed up with this theater for the handicapped and at the first better opportunity planned to pick up her friend, put her in a stolen jeep and go somewhere where they would never find them.

If such a place existed on the map at all.

  - I asked the question, Hale, and I'm waiting for a specific answer - he addressed her directly, to which she clamped her teeth.

  - Your brother offered to take care of me while I was walking - she was growling, crossing her arms on her chest. - It was difficult to refuse him.

  - Then why aren't you on a walk? - Jasper raised his eyebrows a little, letting her know that he is not satisfied with this answer.

She turned her eyes clearly annoyed.

  - Where is Dagmara? - She repeated the question, this time focusing on the intended one. - Tell me.

  - In the basement - he sighed, leaning his back against the wall. - He is waiting for deliverance, which is not coming.

  - Why didn't you leave her alone? - Amanda knew the answer, but she wanted to hear it from his mouth.

  - How did you imagine it? - He snorted. - I couldn't remove her memories, so I had to take her with us. She was doing much better downstairs than she was doing upstairs.

  - You're supposed to let her go - she turned to him with a commanding tone, for which he made a surprised face, and Trein laughed mockingly.

  - I'll do what I think is right - he sighed, thundering his brother with his hateful eyes. - I hope you do not plan to kill her.

Amanda moved her arms, sitting back on the couch.

Miała gdzieś, co planuje lub czego nie planuje Trein Withell. Właściwie wszystko obchodziło ją w niewielkim stopniu, bo sama zaczęła szykować w głowie plan escapes. She hoped for a quick resolution of the whole matter and a life far away from this nightmare.

  - Keep an eye on her - the elderly alpha last time he suspended his eyesight on his partner, and then ostentatiously left the salon.

  - So what, doll? Are we watching some porn? - joked Trein, for which he got a pillow in his head.

He was lucky that it was the only one, because Hale was already eager to reach for the vase, but at the last minute she made up her mind.

  - With you, it would have been a rather unsuccessful show - she murmured gloomy. - Turn on something normal or I'm going back upstairs.

  And I am tr
ying to escape," she added in her mind.

  - All right, let's say - the resigned one started to snoop around in the chest of drawers, on which the equipment was placed. - Unless you really prefer to go for a walk.

  - What do you mean? Outside? - It wasn't such a bad idea.

  There, she could have thought.

  - Yes, I will lead you to the forest - his eyes flashed dangerously. - I heard that you have a strong bond with nature. We'll check it out.

  Chapter VI

  - Where are you pulling me? - She sank when she once again fell on a narrow path, hitting the hard ground with her knees.

  - You wanted to go for a walk yourself, so now don't worry - Trein graciously gave her a hand, which she didn't take anyway.

  - I didn't think you would lead me to the dark forest, where the only sound at this hour is the knocking of owls - she carelessly wiped her pants off the remains of the earth and leaves, trying to track down the wolf somewhere in the darkness.

  - I overheard that you're magical and I'm going to check it out - it was on its own. - Anyway, nothing has happened to you yet, and you are already moaning. Not that it bothers me, but do it, although in the bedroom. It is best to do it with me.

Amanda would gladly slap him in this empty sagan, but still saw nothing but the tip of her nose. She had the impression that the further they went, the darker it gets. She did not feel particularly uncomfortable with it.

Actually, she even preferred the company of forest animals in the dark than a house full of werewolves. She would gladly stay here, but she could not leave Dagmara.

  - Save it, okay? - She snorted, trying to go ahead and not bump into ghastly spicy bushes every now and then. - I don't want to listen to this.

  - I start to wonder about the sense of your existence when I look at you as you unsuccessfully try to find me - he threw ironically, grabbing her by the wrist, for which she quietly shouted. - Do not panic, doll. I'm still next door.

  - This is why I panic! - she held out her hand from his embrace. - And do not touch me by your grace.
